Welcome, I am a website designer and consultant specializing in developing for the open-source content management system Plone.
Built on top of the existing hcn.org site (developed by Groundwire and designed by me). The 40th site includes a number of fun new features including, parties, contests, and more.
Visit the site »Wednesday March 24th, I will be presenting High Country News' 40th Anniversary site at Groundwire's 2nd annual Speed Geek Happy Hour over at their headquarters in downtown Seattle. If you are lucky enough to be attending please make sure to say hello. The event will feature 6 to 8 different presenters, those attending will rotate to a new presenter at the ring of a cowbell. Meaning each presenter will end up performing her/his demonstration 7-9 times. Luckily, Groundwire also plans to debut their new signature drink, The Live Wire.
In the coming days I will post a screencast based on my five minute presentation at the event, as, when all is said and done I will be well practiced.

HCN wanted the site to feature a distinctive look and feel from hcn.org primary (hcn.org was developed for Plone by Groundwire and designed by Your's Truly) but still utilize many of the features already in place on the main site.
The 40th Anniversary site features a number of completely new custom elements developed for Plone including:
